Blue Moon 2010 New Year!!!!!

What a magical end to a challenging year!!!!  2009 has been a year of such movement and growth for so many people that I know.  I knew that it was going to be a year of “Getting it Done” but I didn’t realize that it such actions would spill over into 2010… a new decade.  A new beginning for everybody.

I tend to live my life in an All or Nothing kind of fashion. My stubbornness and tenacity has blessed me and cursed me at the same time.  There is one thing though that I have been gifted with through this all.  I have GROWN and really isn’t that what this is all about?  Growing as a person, learning from your mistakes, being able to take stock of your life around you and know that you have the power to keep the things you want, and purge yourself of the things or people that you don’t want around you.  That we don’t have to tolerate negativity in our lives and from people around us.  We can strive to be understanding, loving and secure in who, and what, we are.   we can make this world a better place simply by changing the way we look at it.  Life is beautiful… it doesn’t have to be hard!

We welcome in 2010 on the eve of a Blue Moon, what does that mean????  Well, for all of you who have ever used that expression…”Once in a Blue Moon”, it’s finally here!
So I challenge all of you, go out and do that one thing that you have always wanted to do this year.  Don’t put it off any longer!  Go and be free, be yourself, be the you that you have always wanted to be.
It will be magical…. It will be liberating…. You will be celebrating the most beautiful thing of all… YOU!!!!

May this new decade bring you all peace, love and clarity for your future, and the world.
May we all learn to celebrate our differences.
May we learn to be positive and proactive in creating a better future for all.

Happy New Year Everybody!!!!!

Destination Wedding - Dina & Gus

When Dina approached me to shoot her wedding I was honored to say the least.  I have know Dee since she was a child ( which first made me feel really old…lol), but then to know that she loved my style and trusted me to shoot her wedding made me feel very special.

Imagine my surprise when she called me a few weeks later and told me that they had decided to cancel the big local wedding for a smaller destination wedding, I thought we were going to cancel the contract.  Then she dropped it on me…. ” I NEED you there to shoot my wedding!!! I want you and your vision to capture the most important day in my life!  Will you do it Nancy????”

Will I!!!!

I was so excited to be shooting in sunny irie Jamaica.  I had never been there before and was anticipating the amazing shots that you can only get in a destination country.  I had been to quite a few other sunny locations for personal and work related but to be in Jamaica…. every ting was ar’rite mon!

All of their guest were a riot and the resort - Rui Ochos Rios was breathtaking!!!

We had shot the wedding and the Immortalize Your Dress session for Dee and Gus ( A usual in any of our Destination packages).

But the Immortalize Your Dress Session required us to be up a 6 am…. YIKES!!!!
We did get beaches that were void of people, and the sunrise made for the most beautiful light…. So it was a winning decision in my book!
Well enough of me telling you about it here are a few photos for you to see for yourself.

For anyone who is interested…. Do your research with your destination wedding in regards to your photographer and what you can do. I have been previve to some horror stories with destination weddings and resort photographers.  Please for all of you who are condsidering this type of wedding…. ask the resort planner what you get and what it costs?  Plus don’t forget to ask to see the photographers work?  It will be the best if you know exactly what you are expecting when you get there.  The less surprizes thebetter :).

As for these two…. You guys are wonderful.  Thank you for being troopers and getting up to do those IYD shots…. sooooo worth it!!

Visting Italy & Castrofillippo- Sicily!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend?

It was a busy this weekend. Finishing up the last of the shopping and wrapping.  Was going through some old photos for a gift to my father-in-law and though it has been way too long that these images have been in storage.  I thought I would share a few with you all.

It was from our trip to Italy in 2006.  We (my Hubby & me) we were lucky to spend one amazing week in Sicily with his family, all 700 of them…lol, no but really it felt like it.   It was so beautiful so rustic and not over run with the tourist trade.  In the little town of Castrofillippo, Sicily -  there are about 3000 or so residence and everybody knows each other.  Well to be honest they might all be related somewhere down the line.  No one spoke english, except for a handful.  It was bliss to be around houses and buildings that have been there for over 500 years, and still lived in!!!!!

BTW, should you fall in love with any of these images prints are available.

So here are a few from “La bela Sicilia”

From Sicily we travel through Italy… Rome, Florence, Verona & Venice which by far was my favourite.  There is something about being in a place that is that rich in history & has a limited time left.  I always knew that in Venice there were no streets, that the people there travel through their city by water, but when you get there it actually hits you… there are NO streets… none!  You walk every where with steps and pathways that wind through the city like a maze.  There are some areas where the buildings are so close together that two people cannot walk side by side.  It was my favorite!!!!!  I only wish it had not been raining the way it was and was as cold.  I wasn’t expecting that!  I ended up making the images from the drab day that it was, to reflect how I saw the city… vibrant and eclectic!

Here are a few of my shots from the tour.  Please click on them if you wish to see them bigger

I figure it might be best to stop uploading this may shots, I did shoot close to 2700 images and well it is always fun for me to go through them and relive that wonderful trip.
It was such a great experience.  I very much look forward to returning some day very soon.  I most definitely recommend it to anyone who like history & crowds… lol :)

It’s here, it’s here!!!!!

Well finally…it’s here!!!!!!!!
The new nbphotos website is up and live for all to experience. I have been working hard on getting the new website up and running for the last 4 weeks.  Picking my favourite photos, editing down to a good number for you all to see…. and trust me that was hard for me. So let me thank my wonderful hubby TONY for all his input and support. Every one of my photos are like my babies.  It just hard to pick a small selection from so many that I like.

No more waiting!! I would like to invite you all to see and experience the new nbphotos!!!!

Weddings - Sonya & Tasos

So it’s been a great start.  I just would like to thank all my friends and colleagues who have been sweet enough to leave comments on the site.  It is wonderful to know that there at least a few of you out there that are listening…lol!

Well I have the new website ready to be unleashed to the world.  Just one little hiccup to settle before you all see it.  I’m super excited about it all and the new images that i have coming out representing me and my company.  Since I have to wait a little longer to release the site…. which by the way for me is super hard because, well patience is not one of my virtues, at least not with wanting to get things done.  I figured it was ok to cheat a little bit and give you a sneak peek at a few of my photos.

You will recognize this beautiful couple once you go on my site… Sonya & Tasos!  You two are the absolute cutest thing together.  I was so honored to be a part of your wedding and your lives.  I know the wedding was a few months back, but since I got the blog now (finally) up and running I thought I would like you to be my premiere wedding. Big blessings and luv coming at ya!

For those of you who know Sonya, this dancing on the chair in the middle of the dance floor is not very far fetched.  Always fun!

A little inspiration

I thought that since today was Wednesday, it was as good of a day as any to start with an inspirational quote.
Since  we are coming up to the Holiday Season here’s a little Nancy love:

“Where would any of us be without our family & friends?”
In a world where it seems as though we are growing technologically and globally at a rate that is mind boggling have you every thought about that personal, quiet quality time with the people you love most. No, I dont mean the kind of time where you sit together and just watch TV or a movie, but that time when you actually talk to eachother - face to face.

No texting, instant messaging, emailing, facebooking®, myspacing® or anyother type of “networking” is the same as pure face time with the ones you love.
Why not give the gift of your time? It’s something we should all be able to afford… afterall, why are we working so hard?

In  homage to my latest post I would love to share with you a few photos of the sweetest little angel come to get her photo take.  This is Keira’s 1 month photo session and … well, she seems to have a little secret.
Thanks Dave & Jocelyn for letting me shoot your beautiful babygirl!!!!

May that sweet smile bring you all to a peaceful place… it totally works for me!
